  • 90% of BPAY Group employees completed the survey
  • 68% - Aon Hewitt’s entry point for the highest performing quartile of all organisations in Australia and New Zealand
  • 81% - Aon Hewitt’s Average Best Employer score in the region
  • Aon Hewitt’s Best Employers program is Australia and New Zealand’s leading accreditation and research program looking at the people practices of high-performing organisations.

John Banfield, BPAY Group CEO said, “BPAY Group is incredibly honoured to be named as an accredited 2018 Aon Best Employer. Over the past few years, we have been proud to see our company shift to a more dynamic, entrepreneurial and creative culture and to have our efforts recognised by our people objectively through Aon Hewitt is extremely rewarding.”

“We have actively reinvigorated BPAY Group with our new more empowering values, behaviours and work practices. I am privileged to be the leader of an organisation that constantly brings out the very best in our people,” said Mr. Banfield.

“Those values are: Better Together (encouraging teamwork); Think Customer (placing the customer at the forefront); Minds Wide Open (asking questions and embracing change), and Always Step Forward (embracing curiosity and ambition to keep learning and improving). We create a level of innovation by empowering people to have some form of autonomy to create based on their own horsepower. It’s resulted in true buy-in and belief in our values creating a huge amount of momentum that we have built our culture around,” Mr. Banfield says.

Lucy Lithgow, BPAY Group General Manager, People and Culture said, “To be named as an Aon Hewitt Employer of Choice for 2018 is testament to our great company culture and how it contributes to organisational success. We are proud to be an employer that puts collaboration at the heart of everything we do, to continue building a groundswell of engagement that breeds passion and energy.”

BPAY Group has also moved its head office from Rhodes to the Sydney CBD to be closer to its customers. It has created an open-plan and activity-based working environment to encourage more conversations and stronger relationships between staff. Introduced Human Centred Design into practice and offers an ongoing wellness program.

It has not been an easy task but more engaged employees is already beginning to pay off with increased customer satisfaction and multiple new product launches pushing beyond BPAY Group’s traditional BPAY product.
