BPAY brings bills expertise to Rural Aid partnership to help drought affected farmers

Bill experts, BPAY helps Rural Aid with payment reconciliation to improve their business processes in new partnership aimed at raising funds for farmers.

BPAY’s new campaign is a partnership between BPAY and Rural Aid, one of Australia’s largest rural charities, who provide financial assistance and support to farmers in times of natural disasters such as drought, fire or flood.

For the campaign, BPAY, best known as a bill payment service, can be used as a donation method to allow Aussies to make donations directly to Rural Aid. The campaign asks Aussies to help pay the household bills of drought-affected farmers across Australia.

In addition to the fundraising efforts, BPAY has also been working behind the scenes to help set Rural Aid up as a BPAY biller and join over 45,000 billers who already offer BPAY as a payment option.

“Our team has been working closely with Rural Aid to implement BPAY. We are pleased that donors can now use BPAY to donate through their online banking channels, the same way they pay bills using BPAY,” says Keith Brown, BPAY GM Product.

Using BPAY’s unique customer reference number capability, Rural Aid will now be able to quickly identify donors to reconcile payments and issue receipts promptly, addressing a major pain point for Rural Aid.

“This will significantly reduce the time taken to reconcile payments and free up additional time for the business to focus on helping farmers,” says Sarah Hunter, Rural Aid’s interim CEO.
